Include Spain In Your World Travel Plans

If you are considering doing some traveling abroad in the next year or so, you should include Spain in your world travel plans. Spain is a wonderful place with many things to do during all seasons, not just the summer months like many think. Not only does Spain offer skiing, water sports, rock climbing and other outdoor activities, but there are many museums and historical places to visit on your vacation to this unique country.

While most think of the outdoor activities as confined to the summer months, there are outside activities to do all year in Spain. Depending on the area of Spain that you desire to visit, you can find many different activities outdoors in each season. The Costa Blanca and the Costa Del Sol are the most popular summer destinations on the Mediterranean. The summer months offer beaches and water sports and are possibly the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. These areas offer plenty of choices when it comes to resorts, spas and hotels. When the weather is warm, you are sure to find many tourists in that area of Spain.

One of the most widely publicized summer activity of Spain is the Running of the Bulls. This festival is celebrated in the month of July each year. Many people travel from all parts of the world for this Spanish ritual. If you are feeling extra brave, you can join in the actual running with the bulls, otherwise you can watch from a safe distance and enjoy the other parts of the festivities.

Skiing is a popular attraction for the winter months for tourists in Spain. There are excellent towns in Spain for skiing including Aragon, Torremolinos, Malaga, Catabunya, and others. Most skiing can be done from early winter through late spring in these areas. In late spring, you can enjoy skiing in the mountains near the Mediterranean coast in the early hours of the day and spend the afternoon on the beaches. This is due to the much higher elevations of the mountains and the ready availability of snow in the upper regions.

Rock climbing is a big adventure in Spain. There are groups available, or you can choose to do the climb with your own group or pair. It is recommended that you climb with a tour group, at least on the first climb because you are not familiar with the terrain of the foreign country.

There are many cities and towns around Spain with rich history. There are several museums in Spain that will offer a glimpse of this rich history that is throughout Spain. Madrid and Barcelona are home to several large museums that offer history, art, and culture. Other small towns around Spain offer smaller museums that show the history of that area and offer a showing of the cultures of different areas of this great country.

If you include Spain in your world travel plans and the right time of year, you are likely to come across a great Spanish festival. There are many religious celebrations, patron saint festivals, and parties to go along with each festival. Holy Week activities are popular tourist attractions and events for the locals alike during the spring months. Since Spain is predominantly Catholic, these festivals are held all over the country in large cities and small towns alike.

As you can see, there are many things to do in this wonderful country, so you should consider including Spain in your world travel plans.
